It was unbelievably hot by 9 am, but there were still lots of dogs at the park.

After months of construction, the beautiful new building, on the site of the old Lamplighter Inn, is finished. Sayville resident Dr Mark Caporaso has opened the doors to his state-of-the-art animal hospital.

As Sayville residents will well remember, in later years, the Lamplighter property was neglected and run down. What a pleasure it is to see this charming new building, carefully designed to fit in with the surroundings.

More importantly, it’s great to see a new business in town! Dr. Caporaso ( Dr. Mark to his clients) has finally realized his vision of a hometown veterinary practice . His goal has always been to provide pets with quality medical care with a small town touch.

Stopped by the dog park Saturday afternoon and got lots of great photos. Thank you to everyone for your interest in this blog, and for sharing photos.

I heard lots of great rescue/ adoption “happy tails” which I will write up and post. Its great to hear stories like that, and we certainly appreciate people taking the time to tell us about how they rescued or adopted their dog.

Saturday was also a good opportunity to spread the word about Sayville’s Lost & Found Pet Response team- it’s been busy – 3 lost pets in 24 hours! One dog and one cat are safely home- one kitty still missing. Please see Sayville.com for details

Thanks
Pam

ABOUT THE SAYVILLE.COM LOST & FOUND PET RESPONSE TEAM

The team, founded by sayville.com, Sayville vet Dr.Mark Caporaso, and Appaws Petsitting, was created to help lost pets in the Sayville community reunite with their owners. The inspiration for the team was Bandit, a dearly loved Jack Russell, who wandered away from home and was found two days later. We wanted to share the lessons learned in our search for Bandit to help others in the same situation.
